Adorable little book from Oliver Jeffers. Stood by the shelf, read, and had a weak moment thinking of the time when we read all Oliver Jeffers and Shell Silverstein books together. ‘Alphabet’ was her favorite. Wouldn’t let me touch the book but instead ask me which letter to read. Tonight I think of her and all our readings. Whatever goes, leaves or abandons, the experience of that time and of that togetherness stays. Happy to stay with it.

Oliver Jeffers, meanwhile , is one of the finest human being we have ever read. He wrote ‘Here We Are’ for his two month old kid. What a lovely thing to welcome a child with. He’ll always be associated with this other person I felt was the finest ever, to have crossed path.
